Below is a list of art works, texts and films that you may find useful. Some of these works relate directly to the sea or water, or explore issues to do with place, in the case of Katrina Palmer, or networks, in the case of Langlands and Bell. The films that are cited are documentaries: Isaacs' film looks at the lives of refugees and emigres in Calais, Sekula's Forgotten Space follows the journey of a container, Guzman's The Pearl Button is an exploration of complex interconnected narratives relating to Chili's past and recent history. The books listed range from fiction -- Woolf's "Solid Objects" -- to travel/memoire -- Sebald's Rings of Saturn. While neither Ingold or Dean and Millar deal directly with the sea, you might find some sections in these books pertinent.
Inevitably, of course, this is a very personal list which reflects our own interests so these are merely suggestions.
